Gateway Security Appliance?

I am currently looking at the McAfee WebShield e250 appliance to address anti-virus scanning of network traffic. The WebShield scans SMTP, HTTP, FTP and POP3. Does anyone have experience with this product or suggestions about other products of this sort?
