General Virus removal from systems.

by jim brubaker . Updated 25 years, 2 months ago

Systems are brought to us with different virsus every day. cleaning them was complicated by the fact that some systems had no virus program or one that was severely in need of update. I noticed that it was very easy to clean a system that had current virus updates and was stable enough to run from a dos boot. Bearing this in mind, I updated the Mcafee virus scan on our system and burned the Mcafee directory to a cd. Now when a system comes in, I can run the scan from the clients cdrom without having to mess around with whether or not his virus files are up to date, or for that fact even present.

This could be old hat–but it sure makes my day easier fixin’these machines.
