Good Old Ramdrives

by dodgy_geeza . Updated 23 years, 5 months ago

A question for you all out of curiosity. Ramdrives access data far quicker than conventional hard drives, including my SCSI RAID. Would it be possible to create a server running minimal OS, and a TSR to use nearly all memory for network drive?

Currently considering using Win 98 in DOS mode for stability, simply using the ‘net’ command to load up the ethernet interface. I can create a backupscript to run every hour etc.

Appreciate any info on this.
