Group Drive access

When we used Novell we could give users access to a common directory depending on which group they belonged to. They also would only see the directories they have access to not all of the directories. We are now upgrading to 2003 and are finding that the user sees all the directories but only has access to the ones they are assigned to. We don’t want the users to see all the directories. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
