I’m looking for some advice and opinions.
I currently look after a Netware 5 LAN for about 130 users. We are hoping to implement a new groupware solution within the next 9 months. However I am not sure whether I should pursue Groupwise or Exchange. All of our desktops currently run Windows95, Office 97, Pegasus mail for email and CaLANdar by the Learning Company for scheduling.
In the past I would have opted to go for Groupwise without thinking about it but after attending recent Microsoft Technet seminars and seeing Windows 2000 Server and Outlook 2000 I now fear for the future of Netware, Groupwise and maybe even Novell. I am not saying that Windows 2000 Server and Outlokk 2000 are better products than Netware 5.1 and Groupwise but it is only a matter of time before Microsoft get it right and I have a strong feeling they will do that within the next five years.
The introduction of a groupware product can mean introducing a whole new working culture to an organisation. I fear that if I
