Groupwise upgrading from 4.1a to 5.5

My company is in need to upgrade Groupwise 4.1a to a new version. 4.1a is a 16bit and 5.5 is 32bit. Has anyone encounterd any major problems with this type of upgrade? I heard from a former associate that this is a big problem.
