I have seen this come up in several forums and apologize for getting some of those forums off track somewhat. I’ve decided to start a new one on this topic, because it seems to be of interest, and many people have very different ideas about it. I believe the term is positive, especially inside our profession, and especially to the open-source movement. However, I see it used as a synonym for Piracy etc. frequently here at Tech Republic. I’m not trying to Flame or Edify, I just am interested in knowing if Tech folks really are changing the way they use this term in response to some Microsoft and general media positions on it.
