If someone can help me answer this question I would appreciate it. I have read all the horror stories about headhunters and recruiters and how not to use them. But can someone please explain to me if someone has been full time all their lives and decided to switch to being a consultant because of the many outsourcing of IT departments that is occuring worldwide how is one suppose to get clients without the use of a headhunter. To a full time person who most often uses headhunter for their job search it didnt seem too bad, they find a job for you, you go on a interview, you like the job accept it and never hear from them again. If you go through all the steps of trying to get clients, from creating your own websites, to handing out yourbusiness cards to everyone you know, to joining many computer consultants organizations like the ICCA to hopefuly try to network and meet new referrals, what else can one do to try to get clients. From someone who is inexperienced in the consultingbusiness recruiters dont sound like such a bad idea. Afterall I know you have to give them some of your pay, but that is better than have no pay at all.
Any help or tips will be appreciated..
