Help me before they ruin another printer

by mc_user . Updated 19 years, 3 months ago

Is there a source to go to to find the correct transparency media for a specific printer? I am having a very hard time getting specifics from the manufactures on what to use.

I work as tech support for a high school and we have teachers who want to print transparencies. We have a variety of printers, desktop Dell laser printers and some workgroup Dell Color Lasers.

Luckily the Canon photocopier they tried to use was still under warranty so we didn’t have to pay when it needed to be rebuilt. The wrong transparency media fused it together. We now know the specific brand to use for this device. But I want specifics for all of the other printers.

So far all I can find from Dell is to make sure that transparencies are laser (color/laser) rated and to verify that the printer (on the printer’s control panel) is set to transparencies.

Any suggestions?
