HELP ME PLEASE!

Hi. I bought a sparc5 to practice unix when I was learning it. I shared the computer with my mom, but she did something to it and she can’t remember what. Well my problem starts on booting. It says it can’t find the carrier or cable is lose/broken. Well she use to practice on a network at the training school but we don’t go there and I want to use it at home now, so that I may learn more Linux.
