Help me please! (usb ethernet adapter )

Sorry if this is a beginners question…. but
Ive just installed redhat 8 and have got most of my components working
bar a usb to fast ethernet adapter by a generic manafacturer with no
fcc number or markings to work out the manafacturer to source a
driver.

I was thinking… as it is a generic pegasusII based device then the
standard pegasus driver should be able to run it. however it is not
recognised by any drivers on my linux system.

can i get the manafacturer number using ‘dmesg’ and edit into the
source of the driver?

if so how would i go about it?
