Help with POP3 on Linux 7.3

I have installed Redhat Linux 7.3 and configured everything the way I think is should be from all of the documentation that I have found over the internet, now POP3 works as I have tested on the local machine by typing telnet localhost 110 but when I go to a windows machine I cannot connect to POP3 but I can telnet and connect to smtp port 25, I have checked all of the books that I have at my disposal and I even went to the library to get more insite and the only info I come away with is how totest by telneting, they say just telnet to the port and you should see *whatever* but none of them say what to do if it doesn’t work, Please Help !!!!!
