helpdesk technician supporting windows to linux?

Hi Guys,

need some insights, i am currently a helpdesk technician that cater most of the time a windows environment. i have been doing it for almost 2 years now. i got an oppurtunity to support linux as well.
should i grab it?
my thoughts are it will straighten my path as a network admin.
