Hiding resource rates in Project 2002

Is there any way within Project 2002 to protect the billing rate fields so that they are not visible to everyone with Project 2002? I currently use blended average rates which hides salaries nicely, but I would like to use actual billing rates to more accurately cost my projects. I just don’t want prying eyes using this to deduce what everyone else is making annually.
