Home network windows 2000 professional

I have two computers on with Windows ME and the other with Windows 2000 Professional, in the home. I am trying to network them and make them talk to each other. But not successful. I installed network card on my windows 2000 workstation. But the WindowsME is OEM pc and comes with its own network card. Can somebody suggest me, how to make it work. Thanks in advance.
