I have been working on a number of options to enable me to lockdown a Windows Mobile 2003 O2 XDA IIi.
First I found WisBar at http://www.lakeridgesoftware.com/products/ which was useful in almost totally removing access to the Start Menu and other things. I also like how I can control the themes with this application.
The application kicks in after a few seconds of the device starting. However, during that time it would be possible for the user to access pretty much anything. If they’re quick they could get the browser up or open up the Progams window and I don’t want them to do that.
The problem is that if I set WisBar to kick in right away it stops me from being able to use that timeframe to access settings and configs should I need to tweak or repair anything.
So, questions:
1) Is there a way to build a taskbar buton that when pressed closes WisBar, but requires a password to function?
2) If not, is there any other way to effect a total lockdown of the Pocket PC?
3) How easy is it to edit the startup options so that my datacapture application loads at initialisation?
Any help on this would be gratefully appreciated.
