how do i autorun my cd-r

i have this problem about this autorun cd-r, i’d been trying to make my cd-r containing executable file to autorun but still i can’t do it. i’ve tried lots of techniques:

“NOTEPAD”

[autorun]

OPEN = setup.exe

then i saved it the folder where i had saved the program that should be launch automatically then had it burn.. but still did not work.. am i missing something?

i had also noted from researched to different sites that i have to save or place the .inf file to the root/parent directory of the cd-r and i think thats my big problem,, coz i dunno how do it,, i dont even know where is the root of the cd and how to get in there…

please help me out i’m going crazy… i’d been trying to do this for 3 weeks now…
