How do I correct an error while booting in XP

I get this error “No system disk error or i/o disk eror” while bootng in XP. Tried to correct it using System Recovery with fixmbr and fixboot commands but nothing seemed to work. I have installed a second HD with Ubuntu/Linux installed and I think the Grub messed up with the windows mbr
