how to configure on the client side (Access)?

use Access database as an example. If we want to use one Access database in a LAN, first need to configure on the server side (ODBC connection), then how to configure on the client side (after splitting)?
Normally we use “link Table Manager” to define the path. Do we have to share the database completely on the server side?
