How to get a Linksys 10/100 NIC to work

I have installed a linux box in my office on an old P100. I used 2 Linksys 10/100 NIC cards which work fine. I went home and installed one on my PII400 with no luck. The tulip driver won’t work. It’s detected but is unreachable. Any suggestions?
