how to open port/linksys router

I have a linksys 1 port router with built in firewall. i am running an ftp server and no one can get through my firewall. can someone explain to me how to open a port and what ip to use so users can get through the firewall on my router? users can access my server just fine when i take the router off my network.(i don’t want to do that)
