how to set up a home network

Hello Engineers, I say engineers because normal people without knowledge of computers are flat out ignorant.I need help though. I have 3pc’s. 2 normal pc’s and a laptop. They are all sharing the same internet access. I have internet access with direct tv adsl. I have lynk sys adsl router and a hub with all pcs connected. From the router i have a cable going to a port in the hub and it works. Could someone tell me how to create a peer to peer network where i can have a share drive and also sharethe same printer. 2 computers have windowx xp professional and the other xp home.
