How to set up Shared drives or folders within linux

Hi there I am currently running fedora 11 and would like to know how to add shared areas/folders/drives within linux to users of the network and even block access for some users for example:

Sales group users can only access the sales shared area, whereas the hr group cannot access the sales shared area but the hr area.

If anyone has any ideas thanks.
