Good Day!
Our company is upgrading our file server’s hard drives from IDE to SCSI. We have a plan for the instillation of the SCSI adaptor & SCSI hard drives, what we don?t have are how to transfer the data with their permissions. Transferring data is easy enough, but the file server has specific, defined permissions for each shared folder. We tried simple transfer & as expected, the permissions were not inherited.
Is there a way of transferring the shared data from the IDE drives to the SCSI drives with out having to redefine the access & permission settings? Or is it possible to mirror the shared files/folders to another server with the same permission (assuming servers belong to the same domain)?
Thanks
John
