I’ve been looking into a compact network setup that combines multiple interface types:
– 2.5GbE
– 10GbE (RJ45)
– SFP+
All available in a single system.
From an IT perspective, I’m trying to understand how this would be structured in a real environment.
For example:
– Would you dedicate 10G to storage or uplinks only?
– Use 2.5G for user access and segmentation?
– Where does SFP+ realistically fit in smaller deployments?
Also curious whether combining everything into one system simplifies deployment, or introduces new challenges compared to a traditional router + switch setup.
Interested in how others would approach this.
