HP Laptop – gives NTLR compressed – press Ctrl+Alt+Del to restart

I had to hit the F11 “Recovery” option on one of our laptops and after the Full Restore of all the Opsys/Drivers I get the above on booting.
never had this happen before – any clues or will I have to get a WinXP disk and start again…
