HP NC6400 and CD-ROM/DVD ROM issues

I have a user who is having a problem with mini cds on his HP 6400. He can play regular CD’s fine but the minis are not recognized.

The other issue with the 6400 is someone who can’t have a CD recognized unless he reboots. If he reboots he is fine. He says he has disabled the autoplay (my idea was that sw was fighting over who should play the CD first).

Both systems are running XP. My idea with the first is that since the 6400 does not have a specific groove in the CD tray for the mini, it can’t do them (they never were very popular anyway).
