HP Pavillion Webcam with Windows Live Messenger Problems

So I just purchased an HP dv6000 series laptop with an internal webcam/mic. The cam works fine on Quickplay, but I get an error when I try to use it on Windows Live Messenger.

“Your conversation cannot begin because your camera is currently in use or not plugged in. Make sure your camera is available and try again.”

I don’t know what could be using it since the light isn’t on.
