HP Scanjet 5470C Problem

When I scan a page with text, the result is a page of text with the top left margin quite a bit larger than the bottom left margin. This slants all lines of text.

I have ensured that the page being scanned has even margins and is placed squarely on the glass.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
