HP-UX connecting to network when booting

How do you stop HP-UX box from trying to connect to network when booting?

Trying to turn it into a stand alone box but when disconnected from network gets stuck with following error message and box won’t continue booting.

Error:
*****LAN/9000NETWORKING*****
DISASTER Subsys NS_LS_DRIVER
LAN card interface unit 0 has network problem
Check cable
NFS server not responding, still trying.
