HPGL to PDF or PS

Does anyone know of a utility to translate HPGL files to PDF? Or what about HPGL to PS? Then PS to PDF will be possible with Ghostcript or Acrobat. The utility must be line drive and hopefully part of GNU. I have tried the hpgp2ps, that is availablefrom a number of places, but I can’t get it compiled. I get one error right after the other.
