hyperlinks and fill handles

Using this function: =HYPERLINK(“C:\Documents and Settings\New Folder\001.msg”, “001”), I would like to be able to use the fill handle to carry on a sequence of hyperlinks to files 001.msg, 002.msg,003.msg,etc rather than having to type each one in. This does not seem to work as I would have expected. Any ideas as to what I need to do would be much appreciated.
