I don’t like to work with my manager

Hi, I am have been working in my company for 3.5 years now and i have started as a systems analyst at the development department and then i moved on april 2004 to the production department as a business analyst in which i used to handle system changes, Data integrity… in sept. 2004 my responsibilities has changed to not carry what i used to do but to be responsible for cost benefit analysis, project coordination, and basically solving business problems from systems perspective. Well, what i do now does not belong to the production department it is purly business consulting but i am still kep t in my current structure as a business analyst working for the production department. Now, my manager has no information or expertise on what i work on, moreover does not provide support to me. i look for support to my manager’s manager as he is an Expat who has all the knowledge that i need, he guides me and even assign me tasks. he then informs my manger of what tasks i he assigned to me. my managers only role is to evaluate me at the end of each year, but i “actually” work for my manager’s manager. i would like to change that but i don’t know how. moreover, my manager is a kind of person who is very bossy i.e. likes to give order and a very show-off person. i find it hard to communicate with my manager as we have a different mentality (what i am looking for is something that my manager has no understanding of, another thing my managers think i know nothing!!). basically i don’t believe that my manager should be my manager i beleieve i belong somewhere else. Your opinion is highly welcomed.
