I need a mentor!

I was in the Air Force for 12 yrs., and I am now a disabled vet that needs to find a new career. I am interested in getting into the network admin. field. I don’t know anyone in this field and I can really use a mentor. I have questions like what education is needed (four year degree or certs.)? Is this job interesting? Do you work long hours? Do you interact with anyone? Is it easy to find a job? How much do you make annually? I really need some direction to help me get started. Thanks in advance.
