IDSL & Linux

I am getting an IDSL connection installed. I have an older PC (100mhz pentium, 64mb RAM, 2Gb Hard Drive). I am running System Commander and have three partitions (Windows, WIN95, NT3.51). I have two other PCs of newer vintage. I want to use the old PC as a communications server. Should I uninstall all of the baggage I now have before adding RedHat 6.1?
Is there a specific NIC card that I should get? I had planned on using a hub to tie all of this together. I have not done this in a longtime. Any good answers? Reference material? Reference people?
