IE cache -0- to 1 million in 5 minutes

Installed NAV2002, IE 6.0 and then AOL 7.0. Did the installation of AOL 7.0 cause my cache to read wrong? Worked fine with AOL 6.0. Learned later that AOL 7.0 works with IE 5.0 & 5.5. Tried to go back to AOL 6.0 but cache goes wacky (reads 2 million in a short time).
Uninstalled IE 6.0 and now use IE 5.5 with AOL 7.0 and have the same problem.
Unchecked LoadPowerProfile, Load QM and Real Tray because strain on memory and system resources. Where do I get a new temporary internet file?
