IE7 won’t print

I have encountered this situation on numerous occasions and on numerous computers and have been unable to resolve the problem. THE PRINT COMMAND IN IE7 DOES NOT RESPOND. Neither does using Control + P. however, if using Firefox, printing is perfect on the same computer. Has anyone encountered this situation and been able to solve it – the MS help site on IE7 does not come up with any hits re a solution.
