ieframe.dll

by lynx2040 . Updated 18 years, 4 months ago

Over the weekend I was trying to run some applications when my computer blue screened adn rebooted.

Now when it came to booting up the programme again (it was COD4) using the autoplay I got an error message. Exactly the same happened with MSN Messenger.
I also get it when I try to access the Control panel.

The error message box title says – msnmsgr.exe Bad image

The contents of the box reads – c:\Windows\system 32\ieframe.dll is either not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error. Try install the program again using the original installation media or contact your system administrator or the software vendor for support.

When I go too look at the .DLL file in question it says its size is 0 bytes. I have tried to put a DLL downloaded from the internet in to replace it but I cant write to the system 32 part of the Windows folder.

Any ideas as to how to fix this – as it only happend after the BSOD. With it I cant boot up IE7 either.

I cant reinstall IE 7 (as it is part of that installation) since I am using Vista.

Any suggestions on how to fix it?
