IIS 3 and an Intranet site

I am having trouble getting my Intranet site to pull up using http://
I can pull it up by using \\servername\directory
But I want it to pull using the http://servername/directory
Any tips?
I have used IIS 3 for Internet domain based websites with no problems but never an Intranet site.
Any help would be much appreciated.
