Image deploying via LAN

Can anyone point me on what do i need to do
the following secuence:

1Boot from lan
2Create a Virtual drive and mount any DOS-like OS
3Access an image file from a server and deploy it
localy

my guess is there is already a solution to remote
deploying of images i just dont know where to start

i think its done trough PXE but im still reading
about it..
