Import Snapshot files for data manipulation

Is there a way to convert an Access Snapshot file to Excel or Access? If so, please post instructions. A snapshot file has an snp extension (example data.snp). If you open an snp in Word or Excel it is garbage. An SNP file is READ only but I need to manipulate the data. I would greatly appreciate anyone’s help on this matter.
