Importing Text into Access

Hi there,

I am trying to import a MS-DOS text file (space delimited) into a new table in a blank database. Now when I click on the finish button in the import table wizard, I get an error message:

“Can’t Update. Database or object is read only”

So I have checked the permissions on the text file – not read only..
And on the new database file is also not read only.

Why oh why is this happening..?? I have tried this on several machines with different versions of Access running..

Any clues would be greatly appreciated!!
