Installation? of Smoothwall

HELP!!
I can’t get SMOOTHWALL GPL 9.9.se to install properly – tried it on an old 486 – then again on a 128MB pentium III – same problem – can’t get past the login name and password – rejected each time.
Any kind soul out there with any useful advice?
