Installing Linux 6.2

I want to install Linux 6.2 on my W98 system.
Do I have to (or should I) first run defragmenter.
What is the best size of partitions for boot, swap and others? (I do have 64K RAM)
Any other considerations for a Linux beginner with no UNIX experience or knowledge?
