installing linux on hard disk with bad sectors

hi ,
i am using celeron pc with 40 gb hdd,128 ram, each time i try to install linux it say media corrupted while cd check says it is ok.
Hdd has bad sector . how can i rectify that problem to install red hat linux 9.0. Any tools avaiable or some method . half of hdd is used for win 2003 server it is working fit & fine .
