Installing Mandrake 8.0

Hi !
I need some advice here, I am currently running winME on the primary h.d which has left 1.89gb of space and the second h.d which has 2 partition which partition 1 is 883mb free the second is 2.53gb free .. i would like to install Mandrake.
and to create a dual boot, which drive shld i install on, and which h.d should the mandrake be sitting on ?
If installation should fail, will it affect my MBR? failure to boot up?
