Installing OS through parallel port

I have a laptop that only has a floppy drive. This is an old NEC Versa 4050H laptop. Whats the best way to get an OS installed? I wanted to go through the parallel port, but then I would need a driver that works in DOS and would read the CD-Rom through the parallel port. Is there a generic driver that would do this? Is that the best way, besides taking out the hard drive, which I am not shy to do? I am just trying to save some steps.
