Internal e-mails stay local to ex5.5

by r d p . Updated 24 years, 6 months ago

Hi!

Exchange server does’t send internal e-mail to my ISP, all other
e-mails to different domain works great and deliver
those internal e-mail locally to exchange mailbox directly without
sending to my ISP’s smtp.mycompany.com server.

I have Exchange 5.5 server and some Outlook 2000 clients. My ISP
holds our DNS, mailbox on pop.mycompany.com and smtp.mycompany.com. My user
are using Global Address list to send internal e-mail to their
principals and co-workers. Our outlook are configured to use MS exchange
mailbox and POP account to get e-mails from Internet.

My problem is, How to send internal e-mail user@mycompany.com to
internet so my travelling users can get all e-mail of their co-worker.
Right now they can’t get internal e-mail on travel, but when they come to
office, their outlook show those co-workers e-mail, I mean exchange server
deliver locally with in my network.

I think GAL is resolving e-mail address to mailbox and deliver that locally. How
to configure GAL to DON’T RESOLVE E-MAIL ADDRESS or any other solution?

Please help, Thanks in advanced.
