Internet Connection Sharing

I have two Win 98 machines with a cable connection. Also my provider has given me three IP’s; I hae a hub. Is it a matter of simply getting both RJ47’s plugged into the hub. Do I need two IP’s really ? And if it does help having two then how do I get them to pick up two different IP’s ? I guess they’re sharing bandidth, can cable handle two mashines without too much sacrifice ?
