INTERNET EXPLORER 7 KEEPS CRASHING MY COMPUTER

All of a sudden my internet explorer will not work. the connection is there as i am writing this on a borrowed laptop using my wireless internet provider. every time i open up explorer it starts and will then freeze and the whole pc freezes and comes up with internet not responding and i have to ctrl,alt,det everytime. However if i don’t open up explorer the pc works fine i.e outlook express, word, photo programmes etc. help i’m tempted just to throw it out the window!
